  • Vocational Skills Training
Central Sterile Processing (CSP)
Program activities:

JVS offers vocational training to meet the needs of students and employers. The professional training programs provide a complete set of skills that enable students to begin careers that are demand in today’s job market. Each program consists of a package of courses, along with support such as case management, job placement and post placement. Students receive a certificate upon completion.

The Central Sterile Procession Technician training program teaches the skills needed for a successful career in a hospital/outpatient/clinical CSP unit . The primary goal of the 12-week training program is to prepare students to pass the national certification exam and to place them in a job as a certified central sterile processing technician in hospital/outpatient/clinical settings. Class instruction includes accurate decontamination protocols, surgical package prep & labeling, Central Service processes, sterilizing procedures, physiology, instrumentation, data management, customer service and inventory, and an externship in a hospital CSP unit.
Students receive extensive experience during their externship at a hospital CSP unit to meet their required 400 hours of employer sponsored externship ( 200hrs during/post training, additional 200hrs post hire). Program length is 33 hours per week for 12 weeks. Once students have successfully completed their classes and graduated, JVS staff assists students in finding jobs in a CSP unit at hospital/outpatient/clinical settings .

This training is designed to be delivered through a hybrid model. Use the link below for further information.
