Coaching for Advancement (CFA)
Program activities:

The Coaching for Advancement program (CFA) provides specialized coaching to help participants identify their career goals, and then to support them in taking the next steps in one or more of the following tracks: Employment, Education or Training. CFA specifically helps individuals from refugee and immigrant populations to achieve goals in employment, education, or skills training. Through this program, participants seek to increase their employability through skills training (i.e English language classes or computer skills courses), advancing education (eg. GED or college), or advancing their careers (eg. first time job in the USA or career pivot).

Participants are paired with a Career Coach who will help them achieve these goals through activities such as resume building, mock interviews and interview practice, 1:1 job search coaching and strategies, and job retention success coaching. Participants of CFA are first time JVS clients who are not eligible for other JVS programs and who identify as refugees or immigrants.
Participants will receive up to 1 year of one-on-one career coaching to complete any next steps with their Career Coach. It is expected that participants will work closely with JVS staff as well as complete tasks independently to achieve their goals.
