ESOL for the Workforce English & Tech Training
Program activities:

Program participants will receive a comprehensive set of activities aimed at equipping them with the necessary workplace language, computer, and employability skills to succeed in the workplace. These activities are designed to provide a holistic approach to learning and cover various aspects of workplace communication, computer proficiency, and job search strategies.

1. English Language Skills for the Workplace:
*English lessons will be tailored to industry-specific vocabulary & on workplace communication skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
*Each participant will receive paid subscription to an interactive learning application that focuses on teaching real life everyday dialogues in 10-minute lessons. Providing personalized review to reinforce what has been learned during class to practice at home.
*Participants will engage in interactive activities such as role-plays, group discussions, and presentations to practice real-life workplace scenarios.

2. Basic Computer Skills:
*Participants will receive hands-on training in basic computer skills, including operating systems, word processing & internet navigation, and email communication.
*Participants will complete modules required in order to obtain Microsoft Digital Literacy Certificate
*Interactive exercises and simulations will be provided to reinforce learning and ensure practical application of computer skills.

3. Employability Workshops:
*Workshops will focus on developing essential employability skills, such as resume writing, cover letter composition, interview techniques, and professional etiquette.
*Mock interviews and role-playing exercises will be conducted to practice and improve interview skills.
*Participants will receive guidance on workplace professionalism, including time management, conflict resolution, teamwork, and workplace ethics.

4. Job Search Assistance/ Job Placement Support
*Conducting individual assessments to determine participants’ skills, interests, and career goals.
*Matching participants’ qualifications with potential employers and job openings.
*Assisting participants in preparing job applications, scheduling interviews, and following up with employers

Participant demographics:

Limited English speakers in the Merrimack Valley who are unemployed or underemployed, encountering various barriers in securing or maintaining employment & want to acquire essential employability, computer & workplace communications skills that will lead to gainful employment.
