Reaching Advancement In Skills and Employment (RAISE)
Program activities:

The Reaching Advancement In Skills & Employment (RAISE) program serves as a next-step program for clients who complete another JVS employment program, helping program participants to continue their career advancement beyond the capacity of the first program (duration, scope of services, etc). RAISE provides specialized goal-based coaching to support clients in identifying and working towards their career advancement goals. These goals can include education goals (HiSET, Higher Education, English classes, etc), training goals (industry specific trainings like CNA, IT, Banking, etc), and employment goals (higher paying job, job in a specific industry), with the ultimate goal of moving program participants up in the labor market and helping them to find fulfilling and family sustaining careers. Participants will work 1:1 with a coach to explore different career paths and create a goal plan outlining next-steps towards achieving their chosen career goals. Coaches will work with participants on resume building, cover letter writing, identifying and applying for relevant education and training programs, job search strategies, and interview practice. Participants will receive up to 2 years of one-on-one coaching to work towards and achieve their career advancement goals. It is expected that participants will work closely with JVS staff as well as complete tasks independently to achieve their goals.
