Secure Jobs
Program activities:

Secure Jobs is a rapid employment program designed to help clients clients who are in need of housing supports to begin to stabilize their situation through employment. Clients begin with intensive Job Readiness training provided individually through in person or online platforms to help clients learn: basic computer skills particularly applicable to accessing services and job searching, to design and write resumes and cover letters, to prepare reference lists, to research employers, to learn and practice techniques for phone screens, online and in person interviews as well as to prepare follow-up questions for employers, to set up a professional email account, to complete online applications.

Secure Jobs staff also work with clients to identify other barriers to getting and keeping employment and then strategize with clients to identify appropriate steps. Post placement, clients receive ongoing support and development of professional skills including: problem solving, communication and other soft skills to ensure clients successfully retain their employment. Clients also engage in longer term goal setting to help them move from initial employment to long term sustainability either by accessing training or education or through growth in their existing employment.
