Volunteers at Food for the World, Inc. play an essential role in helping us serve the community. No specific skills or educational background are required—only a willingness to help, a positive attitude, and a commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect. Before starting, volunteers must complete a brief orientation to become familiar with our policies, safety guidelines, and distribution procedures. Some volunteer roles that involve direct client interaction or sensitive areas may require a CORI check. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and experiences, including individuals completing community service requirements or seeking CORI-friendly opportunities. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended, and volunteers should be able to lift light to moderate weight (for food handling roles).
