Get the training you need to become an EMT! Emergency Medical Technicians play a critical role in providing emergency care to victims of accidents and other illnesses before victims are transported to a hospital. (CORI is required)
The EMT course at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC), EMT-Basic, is a 180-hour, seven-credit course. It is designed for those seeking a career in Emergency Medical Services and will prepare students to function in the field as competent basic care providers.
The curriculum follows the national standard EMT-Basic Curriculum and meets and/or exceeds the requirements set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Office of Emergency Medical Services.
Upon successful completion of the EMT-Basic course, students will receive a certificate with seven earned credits and will be eligible to take the Massachusetts/National Registry EMT Certification Examination. In order to be certified as an EMT at the Basic level in Massachusetts, students must pass the state examination.
The exam, which is both written and skills-based, requires that test-takers must be:

This course will be an online hybrid course that involves asynchronous didactic learning combined with in-class hands-on laboratory sections that will meet either weekly (DAY AND NIGHT options) or bi-weekly on Saturdays
