Participants
Unemployed and underemployed adults
Once enrolled in the Supervised Job Search (JS) component, the participant will be assigned a Career Navigator who will provide an orientation to services and develop a plan for engagement. Based on assessment they will jointly develop a schedule and plan for activities such as workshops and 1:1 meetings to ensure job search goals are met.
Participants will at a minimum meet with their Career Navigator twice per month. Career Navigators are able to accommodate more frequent appointments based on individual need.
Career Navigators provide career assessments, job search assistance, resume building, and interview preparation to help participants navigate the job market more effectively. The components of the program include:
Case Management: Conduct comprehensive intake assessment to identify strengths, needs and barriers. Complete an Individualized Employment and Training Plan to develop goals, objectives, and timelines. Maintain routine contact to monitor progress and coordinate with other stakeholders, as needed.
Employer Engagement: Collaborate with businesses to understand industry needs, align training with market demands, and create pathways for career growth.
Job Placement Services: Goodwill partners with local employers to offer direct job placement opportunities and connect participants with potential employers.
Supportive Services: Career Navigators refer to services provided by partner agencies such as childcare assistance or financial literacy training to reduce barriers to employment.
Participants are required to track their job search activities including workshops attended, jobs applied for and other related activities demonstrating a minimum of 4 hours per week of job search activities or 12 job contacts per month.
