Medical office administrative assistants play an essential role in ensuring that healthcare facilities operate efficiently and that patients receive timely, organized care. These professionals serve as the backbone of the medical office, supporting physicians and clinical staff through a wide range of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities.
At Goodwin University, the Medical Office Administrative Assistant program prepares students for entry-level careers in healthcare administration. Students gain practical skills in scheduling patient appointments, managing medical records, processing insurance information, handling billing and accounts receivable, and communicating with patients and providers. The program also introduces foundational knowledge in medical terminology, billing and coding, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
This program is a strong fit for SNAP Path to Work participants seeking a quick, accessible pathway into a stable healthcare career. It can be completed in one semester (15 weeks), making it an efficient option for individuals looking to enter employment quickly while building long-term career skills.
