The Clean Energy Solar/Wind Turbine Training Combines classroom lectures with hands on lab time at the CWS Facility.
The training program, Community Work Services Energy Institute (CWESEI), is an intensive 12-week program that was developed by CWS, Power52, and CEA consist of 225 hours of classroom/online work with an additional 225 hours of labs and practicum. In order to mitigate barriers to graduation, participants will work one-on-one with Case Managers to create a tailored plan of wrap-around supports to meet their needs.
Our curriculum will include soft skills attainment while CWS Career Placement will provide employer matching assistant so that graduate will not only secure but maintain their employment at companies that best fit their needs and interests.
Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) has an existing curriculum developed for solar photovoltaic installation that has been delivered successfully in a similar training program in operation in Maryland that will be adapted for use in Boston City based on employer recommendations.
The training program is designated to last 450 hours over the course of about 12 weeks. The program will be broken up into
5 segments with 90 hours dedicated to each segment. These segments will include a core curriculum of OSHA 30 training,
Life Skills, an introduction to power tools, blueprinting, and material handling before splitting off to cover industry specific
training in solar and wind turbine installation. Program participants will attend a combination of theory and lab courses five
days a week for 6 hours a day. All lab hours will be conducted in person while theory hours will be delivered both in person and virtually.
The Job Readiness Training Program focuses on building professional soft skills and learning how to conduct a successful job
search. Courses include personal branding , workplace etiquette, getting along with co-workers and supervisors , resume writing and interviewing skills.
