Per Scholas Greater Boston – IT Training
Program activities:

Per Scholas’ mission is advancing economic equity through rigorous training for tech careers and connecting skilled talent to leading businesses. By providing skills training and access to employer networks to individuals often excluded from tech careers, Per Scholas envisions a tech workforce as diverse as the customers it serves.

Per Scholas is a national organization that has been advancing economic mobility since 1995. Through rigorous training, professional development, and robust employer connections, we prepare individuals traditionally underrepresented in technology for high-growth careers in the industry. We partner with leading employers to build more diverse talent pools, directly connecting our graduates to new career opportunities with leading employers, from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups.

Training is entirely tuition-free and includes the cost of certification exams and all technology needed to participate. Our goal is to prepare graduates for employment and career growth in thriving-wage positions with competitive compensation/benefits  packages and work-life balance. We run full-time, bootcamp-style training programs for 13-15 weeks, depending on the training track. Per Scholas’ holistic training model fully prepares graduates for employment in the tech sector, follows them for two years post-graduation, and includes:
– Technical Training – 4 Days per Week – We teach state-of-the-art technology skills tailored to business needs to assure learner employability and help businesses build more diverse talent pipelines. The vast majority of our training tracks lead to industry recognized credentials, such as CompTIA A+ and CompTIA CySA+. Per Scholas covers the cost of the voucher to sit for the certification exam.
– Professional Development – 1 Day per Week – 20% of the training focuses on communication, collaboration, continuous learning, and career navigation skills critical to landing that first job and moving up the tech career ladder. Professional Development days include opportunities for mock interviews and networking with tech professionals and employer partners.
– Learner Support: This team provides enrolled learners and alumni with direct support and referrals to partner agencies. Our Financial Coaches and MSW-credentialed Learner Support Managers facilitate generalized workshops and learner-led, one-on one coaching—including personal finance, homeownership, mental well-being, and combatting imposter syndrome. These supports are available during the training course and for two additional years post-graduation.
– Job Attainment Support & Direct Connections to Employers: We provide two years of support post-graduation with career coaching and additional upskilling opportunities through our Career Accelerator programming. Our Talent Solutions teams work directly with employers to source top candidates for open roles across the country.
– Alumni Upskilling: We offer an array of alumni programming focused on career pathway-specific upskilling (part-time, remote) and coaching to help alumni identify and pursue advancement opportunities within the tech field.

Courses at Per Scholas Greater Boston run for 13-15 weeks in both fully remote and hybrid formats. Current and future training track offerings include:
