Boston Area Gleaners
We are a regional food systems organization working at the intersection of farming, food waste, and food security.

Gleaning (harvesting) crops in farm fields, sorting and packing produce into boxes for distribution, collecting banana boxes for produce packing.
We host volunteer opportunities at farms across eastern Massachusetts on Tuesdays through Saturdays during the growing season (June through November). Shifts are 3 hours long. Opportunities are fewer during the shoulder seasons, but we still have sporadic packing opportunities.
All volunteers will need to register on our website in order to sign off on our health and safety waivers. Once registered, volunteers will be automatically enrolled to receive our trip alert emails. Volunteers will then sign up for any shift that we post on our opportunity list that fits their schedule. No long term commitment required. Volunteers are required to be 13 years old or older; any volunteer 18 years old or younger will need to sign our minor volunteer waiver.
91 Martin Street, Acton, MA 01720
Our headquarters at Stonefield Farm in Acton is a 10 minute walk from the South Acton MBTA station. Public transportation to other volunteer sites (farms) will vary based on location. We do have a carpool Slack workspace for volunteers to coordinate ride shares amongst themselves.
