Open to individuals 18 and older who have a high school diploma or equivalent, who are eligible to work and have a goal of employment in a medical office or related areas in healthcare.
Wellspring’s HealthCare Office Support Training (HOST) (previously known as MediClerk) is a licensed skills training program offered by Wellspring Community Education in partnership with Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital. The program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to build critical skills and professional connections leading to the attainment of administrative, non-clinical positions within the healthcare field.
Participants in the full-time hybrid program receive 450 hours of vocational skills training and job readiness/job search support in the following areas:

Graduates will be qualified for entry-level positions earning between $18-$22+ an hour. Positions titles include:
On average, 80% of students who graduate from the program secure employment within 6 months or less.
Upon successful completion of the HealthCare Office Support Training, graduates are also eligible to receive 19 credits from North Shore Community College with only a $50 administration fee. These credits are verified through the Center for Prior Learning Assessment and can be applied to certificate and associate degree programs in related areas.

Each training cycle runs for 15 weeks. In-person classes are held during weeks 1-12 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 am - 3 pm. at Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital. On Fridays, classes meet virtually on ZOOM from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Additional academic/advising support is provided virtually on Mondays. Students complete an additional 10 hours/week of online assignments and project-based learning administered via Google Classroom. Internships placements with employer partners occur in week 13 & 14 of the training and are typically scheduled for Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Week 15 of the program is in-person.
In Spring 2024, there will be a second section of the full-time program offering at a North Shore location to be determined.
