The Industry Internship Program (IIP) is a 4-week credentialing and on-the-job training program. IIP serves as an introduction to the agency’s transitional employment by allowing participants to put the soft and hard skills associated with employment in place through on-the-job training in one of Project Place’s three social enterprises. Participants gain knowledge and experience in one of the following industries: janitorial and maintenance, logistics and vending, food production and manufacturing.
During the credentialing portion of the program, clients attend industry specific classroom-based training to reinforce skills and work to obtain an industry recognized credential in Customer Services through the National Retail Federation Foundation. Additionally, clients can explore job opportunities and career pathways during employment lab and benefit from 1:1 case management services. Quarterly certifications for ServSafe, Mass Allergen, OSHA10 and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) are also offered to IIP participants.
Upon completion of the 4-week program, client has the opportunity to enroll in one of the agency’s three social enterprises.
