CNA / HHA Training Program
Program activities:

This combined 100+ hour training prepares you for two certificates: Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide! Learn all the skills required to succeed as a direct care worker in a friendly, hands-on, adult-centered learning environment. The program ends with a clinical rotation to support your healthcare education and career. Graduates of GCC’s CNA/HHA program go on to work as direct care providers in a home setting or at a facility, such as an assisted living facility or in a hospital.

Learners who successfully complete this program will earn a Home Health Aide Certification and a Nursing Assistant Certificate of Completion, which meets the educational/clinical hours eligibility requirement to take the Massachusetts state exam to earn a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential. Successful completion also enables graduates to receive:

Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification
American Heart Association First Aid Certification
American Heart Association CPR Certification
Person-Centered Dementia Care Certificate of Completion

Nursing Assistant Training: Massachusetts law requires that anyone planning to work as a nursing assistant in a long term care facility (formerly called nursing homes) complete this required training and pass a state competency exam. The state testing fee is included in tuition (no cost to the student). All students who successfully pass this course are qualified to take the MA Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation.

Home Health Aide Training: In Massachusetts, anyone planning to work for a state approved Home Health Agency must have their HHA certificate. All students who successfully pass this course will receive their HHA certificate, which never expires. You will always be able to work as a Home Health Aide.
