Training Inc. – Skills Training with Internship
Program activities:

YMCA Training, Inc. seeks to provide pathways to employment that offer family-supporting wages and benefits to unemployed and underemployed adults in Greater Boston. We provide job skills training and employment assistance in
close collaboration with the business community.

Track 1- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant:
Our program is an intensive 16-week, full-time (420 hours) computerized office skills training and employment program. Designed to replicate the expectations of a professional/medical office environment, the training prepares participants with both the technical and job readiness skills to succeed in a medical-based administrative position. We provide intensive, hands-on, innovative technical training in a simulated business environment and engage lasting, deep commitment of major employers in Greater Boston.

Training includes modules for Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Customer Service, Resume Writing, Interview Practice, Job Search and Mentoring. Training also includes an 8 week internship giving trainees an opportunity for hands on experience with one of our employer partners. We currently offer two specializations: Business Administrative Support (positions within a variety of financial, non-profit and government industries) and Medical Office and Health Insurance (positions in medical administration).

Track 2- Property Management Credential Program:
Our Property Management Program is an intensive 12-week, full-time (240 hours) computerized office skills training and employment program. Designed to replicate the expectations of a professional/property management environment, the training prepares participants with both the technical and job readiness skills to succeed in a role at a housing complex or rental property.
We provide intensive, hands-on, innovative technical training in a simulated business environment and engage lasting, deep commitment of major employers in Greater Boston.

Training includes modules for Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Customer Service, Resume Writing, Interview Practice, Job Search and Mentoring. Training also includes core concepts on property management including customer service, rental calculations, income verifications, housing recertification, and preparation needed to complete the Certificate of Occupancy Certification.

All trainees are also offered a complimentary membership to the YMCA.

Other Schedule Information: Track 1:Wednesday training schedule is 9am-12pm. Wednesday afternoons offer unstructured, independent time for participants to work toward their career goals while our program staff participate in professional development and weekly staff meetings. Track 2: Wednesday training schedule is 9am-12pm. On Wednesday’s, trainees will job shadow at a property management partner for “on the job” training in preparation for internship.
