Non-English speaker (SPL 5-6/NRS 5-6) - High Intermediate Level



English for Employment III (Advanced) is a 12-week course designed for SNAP recipients with high-intermediate to advanced English proficiency (SPL 5–6). Meeting 6 hours per week, this course prepares participants to compete effectively in the workforce by refining advanced communication, critical thinking, and professional skills.
Participants will focus on producing clear, well-organized written materials and communicating confidently and persuasively in professional settings. Instruction includes advanced resume and cover letter development tailored to specific industries, as well as strategies for navigating complex job applications and hiring processes. Participants will also enhance their professional presence by building a strong profile on LinkedIn and engaging in targeted networking activities.
The course places a strong emphasis on interview mastery, including behavioral and situational interview techniques, articulating accomplishments, and demonstrating problem-solving and adaptability. Participants will practice professional communication in a variety of workplace scenarios, including meetings, conflict resolution, and collaboration.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with advanced language skills, professional materials, and job search strategies necessary to secure employment and succeed in a range of workplace environments.
