The Teaching Kitchen is a hands-on culinary job training and internship program based at Community Servings in Jamaica Plain, MA. All trainees participate in daily, hands-on lessons with a chef instructor, as well as a culinary internship in the high-volume production kitchen at Community Servings, helping to produce 5,000 from scratch meals daily. Outside of the kitchen, trainees participate in weekly classes including nutrition, job readiness, financial empowerment, and digital literacy. All trainees earn their Servsafe Food Handler and Servsafe Allergen Awareness certifications, and graduate with a culinary resume, professional references, and support transitioning into permanent employment in a professional kitchen. All Teaching Kitchen classes are 12- weeks long, with classes held Monday through Thursday, 8:45am-4pm. New Teaching Kitchen cohorts start every 6 weeks, apply now!
Ages 18+ and proficient in English. Must be able to commit to full 12 week training program, and have a goal and plan of employment in a professional kitchen upon graduation.

Trainees are required to arrive no later than 8:45am each day, in order to be ready to be in the kitchen by 9am. Open year round, with a new 12-week cohort starting every 6 weeks. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
