The Literacy Project Ware provides academic instruction in both in-person and remote classes that meet on Zoom to prepare you to pass a high school equivalency test (GED or HiSET). Programming consists of:
Academic classes to help you improve reading, writing, and math skills and learn about social studies and science topics that are on the test. Classes are offered at the High School Equivalency (HSE) test preparation level and at the Pre-HSE level so that you can learn what you need to learn at your own pace.
Individual advising meetings to provide support to help you reach your educational and personal goals. Your Advisor will help you find resources to address challenges that make it difficult to pursue education or employment, and will help you explore options for employment, training, and going to college.
Classes are open to adults of any age and out-of-school youth ages 16 and older.
Classes meet weekday mornings, in person or weekday evenings on Zoom, September through May each year (no classes in the summer). Teachers use e-mail and Google Classroom to provide class materials and assignments. Class materials and a chrome book are provided if needed.
Evening remote classes meet for 4 hours a week and morning in-person classes meet for 12 hours a week.
New students can enroll in the ongoing classes each month, September through April, as space permits. An intake meeting is the first step to enroll in a class. Call or email or inquire on our website:
The Literacy Project is closed for summer break until August 26th. Classes start the first week of September, and new students are enrolled each month.
